I know quit a bit how to drive car but only on holidays?

cause' there are no traffic on the road.now pl advice how tocontrol the car on busy road where frequent stoping is unavoidable.I wonder how driver control the car placing his foot on clutch with 3rd or 4th gear. suppose i m driving the car on 3rd gear suddenly i ve to press the break now what to do to press the clutch and change gear or car will run on 3rd gear again. In my case i found that car stopped.pl adviceI know quit a bit how to drive car but only on holidays?
Well this is a classic problem almost all learners face while, controlling the clutch and whether or not to downshift. The simple thing to do is to first realise when, ie what speed ur car starts to knock in a particular gear, then make a mental note of ur car speed by guessing it. Now if you are in 4th gear %26amp; have had to brake from say 60 kmph to below 10 kmph. Now the wise thing to do would be to press the clutch and downshift to 2nd gear, rather than to balance the clutch and the throttle to get the car back to higher speeds. Here's a speed to gear guide if you follow this it'll help you.

0-5 kmph : 1st gear

5-20 kmph :2nd gear

20-40 kmph : 3rd gear

40-60 kmph : 4th gear

55 + kmph : 5th gear depending on the road conditions whether or not there's traffic, or if the road's inclined or not.

The above boundary conditions provide you with a smooth ride in ur car and also a good fuel economy.

The more you try to balance the accelerator with the clutch, the more fuel you end up wasting, but this doesn't mean you don not use the clutch at all. Use the clutch but do not override it.

Hope this helps.I know quit a bit how to drive car but only on holidays?
that,s where your other foot comes in. you press the clutch then the brake then if you have to shift go ahead and shift while your foot is on the clutch then take your foot off the clutch and brake and give it gas and keep going. it just takes practice.I know quit a bit how to drive car but only on holidays?
This is the simple formula.

0-5 kmph : 1st gear

5-20 kmph :2nd gear

20-40 kmph : 3rd gear

40-60 kmph : 4th gear

55 + kmph : 5th gear

Changing gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?

Sorry to ask this but i'm just a tad bit worried. My friend and I was sitting in my car waiting for another friend and my friend decided to play with my manual stick shift. He shifted it in a couple of gears before I could tell him to stop. I was wondering with my car off and without having my foot on the clutch can this gear shifting damage the car? I know the basics behind how a clutch works but not sure how it works when the car is not turned on.Changing gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?
minscule damage. whoever drives will probably do more damage through thier gear changes while driving than you will fiddling with the shift lever while the engine is stopped.Changing gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?
No damage.Changing gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?
nothing to worry about thats how i learned to find the positions of my gearsChanging gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?
it wont hurt anything unless you start the car that way then that can cause problemsChanging gear without stepping on clutch when the car is off?
It will not damage anything.

Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?

im told that there is a wet clutch, and a dry clutch ,on all makes of cycles. how can you tell the differance between a wet or a dry clutch? any one?Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?
yea pretty much wat he said.....jsut want to add that if its a wet clutch setup u can jsut shuffle the clutch plates around and u'll have a clutch again unless u really fried it.......usually can do this 2-6 times depending on wear......Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?
I think as a general rule, bikes with a longitudinal crankshaft, and shaft drive, have 'automotive style' single-plate dry clutches. BMW twins and Moto Guzzi, for instance. Japanese bikes with sideways four-cylinder engines have multi-plate wet clutches. If a bike has a 'clutch basket' on the side of the engine, that's a wet clutch.

  • How much can I expect to receive for my Peugeot 206 as a part ex-change?

    I have a Y reg (2001) 3 door Peugeot 206 1.1 lx.

Mechanically, it is in good working order, I've had new brakes in the past 12 months, and a full set of tyres, a catalytic converter and full exhaust about 18months-2 years ago, I also had a new clutch about 6 months ago. I just want a newer car, particularly one with 5 doors. The car is 9 years old now and the longer I leave it, the less I will get for it when I come to upgrading.

The mileage is 78,000 with a part service history due to the previous owners. The interior of the car is in good condition, but on the exterior, there is a small dent and a chip in the paint which has rusted both on the front left wing from a bump I had last year. There are also a few slight dents in the door panels from inconsiderate people on car parks. I have owned this car for 3 and a half years, I have only recently finished paying for it. How much could I expect for it as a part ex?How much can I expect to receive for my Peugeot 206 as a part ex-change?
Depends what you trade it in against, but I'd hope for at least 拢1,000.

Bike engined go kart - what can be used?

Am already planning to build Tiger Super Six kit car over the winter, but fancied something to build over the summer and have some fun with.

So my question is - what is the most adventurous bike engine you could feasibly fit onto a go-kart type chasis without breaking the bank? Has anyone built for example with a Ninja engine? If so how have you arranged eg clutch/gear change/engine mounting-orientation in respect of gear change?

I know that may sound ridiculous but this would be for fun not for entering a league to race with and thus obsense power sounds good to me... altho i do worry how it would go round corners

    any thoughts appreciated

    cheers

Any yamaha Engine should work, how fast you want'n to go?? Blaster engines are on ebay from 120-$250. Banshee engine would be good too (highest recomendation for a good engine)

    Clutch oil resevoir?

I have a 1999 honda accord with manual transmittion (stickshift). I was told that there was no clutch oil to change. There is a plastic oil resevoir under the hood (with the mark of MIN %26amp; MAX). The owner manual said that it is the clutch oil. Do I need to replace this oil? how?

In the automatic transmission, the transmission oil should be replaced. How about the stickshift?Clutch oil resevoir?
Most clutches use hydraulics in lieu of mechanical linkages. The fluid is the same as brake fluid on most systems. If the reservoir was never opened and is between the add and full marks you really don't need to change it.

If you want to change it -- and it won't hurt to do so -- there should be a bleed valve on the slave cylinder on the side of the bellhousing. You bleed the system the same way you would bleed a brake system. Keep the reservoir topped up and bleed it until fresh fluid comes out .Clutch oil resevoir?

    Clutch oil resevoir?
With a manual transmission you do have oil inside the transmission. It should last a very long time as there is no combustion going on in there. You could probably take it 60k miles easily before you changed that oil.

About the clutch %26quot;oil%26quot;... I believe Honda's use a hydrolic clutch, so that fluid is actually the hydrolic fluid for your clutch. That should last forever really so long as it stays between those two marks you can leave it alone.Clutch oil resevoir?
    Hi

The oil used is just brake fluid. you should have it flushed every 2 years, just like your brake fluid. It will take dot3 or dot 4 . read your manual for what kind it takes.Clutch oil resevoir?
If you have two reservoirs side by side in the engine compartment, one is the clutch reservoir. Check your owners manual to see if it also uses brake fluid (hydraulic oil). It should be to the max line.

If you only have one reservoir under there, you don't have a hydraulic clutch.

Manual transmissions use gear oil, it needs to be checked every couple years to make sure it has enough in it, but seldom is changed, unless you have a problem.

How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?

I drive a 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe and the clutch has never been changed, when I shift to 2nd 3rd and 4th gear it's kind of hard and some times the gear pops out to neutral I also have that problem with reverse gear but not 5th or first

Do I need a new clutch?

    How much are they?

Where can I get it fixed? How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
If its jumping out of gear it sounds like a gearbox problem, possibly the selector. The clutch can make the gearshift stiff or hard but it will not normally make it jump out of gear, if it is gearbox it will be very expensive. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
That is probably your synchronizers in the transmission. When your engine starts to out race the wheel speed you need a clutch and it can go quickly from there. If they pull your trans. make sure they put in a clutch while it is out. You might check parts stores online for a remanufactured trans. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
    Probably not your clutch.

Take it to a couple different shops to get looked at and have them print out an estimate.

A lot of transmission specialty shops will diagnose and give you an estimate for free. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
Take it to a tranny shop and have them look at it for you, they probably won't charge you anything to look at it.
