My clutch recently burnt out on me on my 1998 yamaha blaster yfs200. I have seen a few forum's on changing clutches, but I have never fully understood them! Money is short at hand, so taking it to the dealer is out of the question. Please offer some information on this or atleast direct me to a clear, easy to understand forum. I've tried to get as detailed as possible using a little amount of space as possible so here goes:
1.Remove the right side foot rest, kick crank, crankcase cover, gaskets and dowel pins.
2. Remove:
bolts
clutch springs
pressure plates
friction plates
clutch plates
nut (clutch boss) then lock washer
clutch boss
spacer
clutch housing
spacer
spring washer (conical) pay attn. to how it is installed.
ball
push rod.
This is all in order of the parts will disassemble.
the parts will reassemble in the smae order, make sure to use a lithium soap based grease. Only thing you need to watch out for is ensuring the conical spring washer is installed the right way. It should go wothout saying to always use a new gasket for the crankcase cover as well. Good luck!How do you change the clutch on a yamaha blaster yfs200?
if you plan on riding it wise to get a book it will show you just what you need..... ok first release cable pressure ...if you dont know where the clutch it follow the cable remove bolts.... now remove clutch plate its spring loaded so and you might have to give it a good wack if you dont have air tools but in side theres clutch disks and pressure plates must remember which comes off first not really hard only a hand full of bolts should have it off in 10 15 minutesHow do you change the clutch on a yamaha blaster yfs200?
Purchase a manual.You'll need it for other repairs and maintenance anyways.You'll thank me later.
The local dealership may copy the pages you need out of service manual as well.

make sure you soak the new clutch plates
in oil for about an hour before you install them.
