Doing this yourself can save you allot of money. I believe it can be done for under 300 dollars. Be sure you use a disk alignment tool when you tighten the bolts of the pressure plate to make the reassembly much easier. Also you can slide the tranny back resting the front on a floor jack rather than removing it. Just remove the crossmember bolts from the frame and leave the rear transmission mount connected. Should be plenty of room. Scratch that you said k-20 the transfer case will most likely be in the way.How hard is it to change the clutch springs on 1984 chevy truck?
Neither does he. You need to remove the transmission and change the pressure plate, clutch dis, throw out bearing and pilot bearing at a minimum. The springs are part of the pressure plate assembly and are not replaced on their own.How hard is it to change the clutch springs on 1984 chevy truck?
That would be next to impossible unless you own a clutch rebuilding shop. It can be done but it isn't due to the uselessness of it. You need a new clutch assembly instead of a few parts. I think a reasonable estimate would be $800 to get a clutch installed.
