Anyone know how many hours labor it should take to change a 04 Volkswagen GTI 1.8 turbo clutch?

I think I'm getting shafted. Does anyone know how many hours it is really supposed to be?Anyone know how many hours labor it should take to change a 04 Volkswagen GTI 1.8 turbo clutch?
It's not a fun job, I know the TDI guys I'm familiar with charge about $300-$350 for labor to do it.

And I'm not sure exactly how many %26quot;hours%26quot; they're quoting at that, I'd imagine 6ish.Anyone know how many hours labor it should take to change a 04 Volkswagen GTI 1.8 turbo clutch?
At least $400 on a FWD car. More if they resurface the flywheel. It's not hourly it's book rate. Hourly it'll take 3 hours give or take 30 minutes. They won't charge you on the hourly as I stated...book rate is standard for PITA jobs.Anyone know how many hours labor it should take to change a 04 Volkswagen GTI 1.8 turbo clutch?
I did mine in 4.5 hours by myself,

Be sure to get the upgrade to the g60 flywheel and the vr6 clutch :)

you can buy em at the link down bottom (good prices to, i love mine, had it on there for 42K and its still going strong with auto-x driving every weekend).

Also, be sure to get the timing belt done well before 65K, i would hate for you to suffer a catastrophic loss(the one downfall of the 1.8 is the timing belt system, or rather the plastic impeller on the water pump, so its best to do everything on the belt line, mjm also has a kit for that, get the one with the metal impeller, NOT the plastic one)

I did my timing belt in about 2 days working on it in little bits throughout the dayAnyone know how many hours labor it should take to change a 04 Volkswagen GTI 1.8 turbo clutch?
most shops charge for 6-8 hours, many do it quicker because it takes up bay space but will still charge you the 6-8hrs. anyone charging more then $350-400 for labor is robbing you
