Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?

im told that there is a wet clutch, and a dry clutch ,on all makes of cycles. how can you tell the differance between a wet or a dry clutch? any one?Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?
yea pretty much wat he said.....jsut want to add that if its a wet clutch setup u can jsut shuffle the clutch plates around and u'll have a clutch again unless u really fried it.......usually can do this 2-6 times depending on wear......Motor cycle clutch.all bvikes have wet or dry clutches in them. im changing one out, but i need to know what t?
I think as a general rule, bikes with a longitudinal crankshaft, and shaft drive, have 'automotive style' single-plate dry clutches. BMW twins and Moto Guzzi, for instance. Japanese bikes with sideways four-cylinder engines have multi-plate wet clutches. If a bike has a 'clutch basket' on the side of the engine, that's a wet clutch.
