How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?

I drive a 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe and the clutch has never been changed, when I shift to 2nd 3rd and 4th gear it's kind of hard and some times the gear pops out to neutral I also have that problem with reverse gear but not 5th or first

Do I need a new clutch?

How much are they?

Where can I get it fixed? How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
If its jumping out of gear it sounds like a gearbox problem, possibly the selector. The clutch can make the gearshift stiff or hard but it will not normally make it jump out of gear, if it is gearbox it will be very expensive. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
That is probably your synchronizers in the transmission. When your engine starts to out race the wheel speed you need a clutch and it can go quickly from there. If they pull your trans. make sure they put in a clutch while it is out. You might check parts stores online for a remanufactured trans. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
Probably not your clutch.

Take it to a couple different shops to get looked at and have them print out an estimate.

A lot of transmission specialty shops will diagnose and give you an estimate for free. How do know when your car needs a new clutch? How Much?
Take it to a tranny shop and have them look at it for you, they probably won't charge you anything to look at it.
